Embracing Spring Renewal: From Houston’s Winter Chill to Chic Easter Baskets and Home Makeovers

After navigating a winter unlike any other in Houston, a vibrant spring photo feels not just fitting, but absolutely necessary. Ironically, the only plants that endured the brutal freeze were my trusty faux outdoor plants – a surprising win for artificial greenery! The recent events in Houston were truly a chaotic and challenging time for so many, and my heart continues to go out to all those who experienced the worst of it, from prolonged power outages to severe property damage. We were incredibly fortunate to have only dealt with a few minor busted pipe issues, and our water and power have been steadily back on for quite a while now. The resilience and community spirit displayed during that time were nothing short of inspiring.

As we slowly but surely leave the depths of winter behind, our focus is naturally shifting towards the rejuvenating energy of spring. This season, for us, is all about fresh starts, home improvements, and creating spaces that inspire joy and comfort. We’re particularly excited to finally get back on track with our long-awaited backyard makeover project. Renovations, as many of you know, often come with their fair share of setbacks, and I can certainly say that the unexpected snow event did a significant number on our initial plans and timeline. However, we’re not letting that deter us! We’re eager to transform our outdoor area into a serene retreat, an extension of our home where we can relax, entertain, and truly enjoy the beautiful Houston weather (when it decides to cooperate, that is!).
