What a truly unforgettable weekend it has been! Our recent DIY Home Decor Workshop proved to be an absolute whirlwind of creativity, community, and delicious treats. Following closely on the heels of our Easter styled gathering, this event was a testament to the joy of hands-on crafting and the power of shared experiences. From intricate pendant light wiring to delightful dessert tastings, every moment was packed with excitement. We might just need a few months to recover from all the sugar and intense focus, but it was undoubtedly worth every single bit!

The energy in the room was palpable, a vibrant mix of eager learners and seasoned DIY enthusiasts, all ready to dive into the world of personalized home decor. It was a genuine pleasure for both Brittni and myself to connect with each and every one of you who attended. Seeing new friendships form and creative ideas blossom throughout the day was incredibly rewarding. This workshop wasn’t just about making beautiful objects; it was about fostering a supportive environment where everyone could explore their artistic side and leave feeling inspired.

Crafting Custom Pendant Lights with Color Cord

One of the standout projects of the day, and certainly a crowd favorite, was the creation of personalized pendant lights. We were incredibly fortunate to partner with the fantastic team at Color Cord, whose innovative products allowed us to bring this ambitious idea to life. While assembling these lights from scratch required a bit of precision and focus, the sense of accomplishment everyone felt was immense. It was truly inspiring to witness each participant meticulously wire their own pendant light, customizing every detail to perfectly match their individual aesthetic.

The beauty of Color Cord’s offerings lies in their incredible variety, empowering everyone to design a piece that truly reflected their personal style. We explored various cord colors, textures, and bulb options, transforming simple components into elegant, functional decor. I was particularly enamored with the delicate blush cord color – it added such a sophisticated touch! A Delightful Culinary Break

After the exhilarating and somewhat intensive pendant light session, everyone had certainly worked up an appetite! We paused for a much-deserved lunch break, and it was nothing short of a feast. Our attendees indulged in a delightful spread featuring savory Nutella and chicken salad sandwiches, accompanied by fresh fruit and a vibrant mixed salad with avocado quinoa, all thoughtfully provided by Dish Society. Their commitment to fresh, flavorful ingredients truly shone through, offering a perfect balance to our busy crafting schedule.

To top off this incredible meal, we treated everyone to an array of sweet delights. Miniature cupcakes from Crave Cupcakes offered a burst of flavor in every bite, while the adorable “little cutie pies” (yes, that’s their official, charming name!) from Oh La La Sweets were an absolute hit. Afternoon of Artistic Exploration: Clocks, Linens & Planters

Re-energized and inspired, we jumped right into the afternoon session with a series of equally engaging DIY projects. First up were the stylish DIY marble hexagon clocks – a project that not only helped us “get caught up on time” (pun intended!) but also added a sophisticated, modern touch to any home. Participants learned techniques for achieving that coveted marble effect, transforming simple materials into elegant timepieces.

Next, we got up close and personal with a fantastic array of supplies from West Elm and Deco Art. Attendees unleashed their inner textile designers, creating beautifully patterned table linens and coasters using high-quality fabric and all-purpose paints. The vibrancy and versatility of Deco Art’s paints made the process both enjoyable and successful, ensuring durable and beautiful results.

To round off our creative afternoon, we tackled color-blocked geometric planters. This project brought together elements of design and nature, with participants learning how to strategically apply paint to create stunning geometric patterns. These modern planters are not only perfect for housing succulents or small plants but also serve as stylish decorative accents. Each project throughout the day was carefully curated to offer diverse skills and produce high-impact, customizable home decor items, ensuring everyone left with something truly special they made themselves.
