One such significant development, which many of you may have heard me touch upon in passing, has been an unexpected and somewhat challenging period concerning Gwen’s sleep patterns. Lately, our sweet 14-month-old has been experiencing some rather unsettling sleep disturbances, leading to countless restless nights for the entire family. After weeks of trying various gentle approaches and observing her closely, we finally took the step to consult an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist this week, hoping to gain some concrete answers and a clear path forward. Navigating toddler sleep issues can be incredibly taxing, not just for the child but for parents too, and we were determined to understand the root cause of her discomfort. The appointment itself was, as you might imagine, not without its moments of intense wrangling – acting as a human straight jacket for an active toddler is certainly an experience! However, despite the physical exertion and the emotional toll, I left the specialist’s office with a sense of immense relief and, more importantly, a much clearer understanding of the situation. Having professional insight and a defined direction is invaluable when dealing with a child’s health. I’m incredibly grateful for the medical guidance we received and feel much more equipped to address Gwen’s specific needs moving forward. Because I know many of you are fellow parents who might be grappling with similar challenges, I’m planning a comprehensive blog post next week detailing our experience, the diagnosis, and the steps we’re taking.
