Weekly Lifestyle Edit: Backyard Dreams, Easy Recipes & Fun Finds

Hello everyone! I’m a bit behind schedule with this week’s edition, but it’s because we dedicated the weekend to setting up our new stock tank pool in the backyard. It’s finally here, and we’re so excited to enjoy it!

When I say “we,” I mostly mean I was the one taking photos while the real work happened. But you get the picture! I also wanted to share a sneak peek – a mockup I created in Photoshop – of our dream backyard design. I often get questions about the tools I use, so I wanted to mention it upfront.

Transforming our backyard into the oasis we envision will be a gradual process, requiring patience and planning. We’ll be tackling it piece by piece as our budget allows, but we’re committed to making it happen!

Currently, our backyard situation is a bit…underwhelming. We have the stock tank pool, which is a great start, but the rest is essentially just an empty space and, unfortunately, a bit of a mud pit. It’s a work in progress, to say the least!

Fortunately, Houston’s warm weather tends to linger for an extended period, which means we still have plenty of time to enjoy the pool before winter truly sets in. We’re looking forward to making the most of it!

Our daughter, Gwen, has been experiencing a touch of cabin fever lately. She’s used to going to preschool, but with her being home with us 24/7, she’s definitely feeling the change in routine.

I’m incredibly grateful that we have the opportunity to work from home while also caring for our girls. However, keeping them entertained and engaged is a whole other challenge! It requires creativity, patience, and a whole lot of coffee.
