I’m not *at all* overly excited that my lifelong dream of having a sister came true through Jared marrying Caitlin, truly (though the photo below might suggest otherwise!).

To further enhance the cohesive aesthetic, I was incredibly fortunate to discover a collection of stunning geometric place card holders from World Market. Our mimosa bar was a vibrant, interactive station that guests absolutely adored. We stocked it with a variety of fresh juices, including traditional orange, zesty grapefruit, and tart cranberry, alongside an array of sparkling wines and proseccos. Guests could customize their drinks with an assortment of fresh fruit garnishes like juicy berries, fragrant mint, and citrus slices, adding both flavor and visual appeal. It’s an effortless way to keep spirits high and conversation flowing, allowing everyone to enjoy a refreshing and personalized beverage. This combination of a simple, beautiful cake and a well-appointed mimosa bar created a delightful focal point for the refreshments, perfectly balancing ease with elegance for our garden flower bridal shower.
Instead of relying on the usual, sometimes predictable, bridal shower games, we decided to take a playful detour down the “token Smith family route.” Being big fans of game nights, it felt only natural to incorporate an element of friendly competition and laughter. We opted for a lively session of Pictionary, played on dry-erase boards, but with a delightful twist: all the drawing themes were wedding-related! Imagine the hilarious interpretations of “something borrowed, something blue” or “first dance.” It was an absolute blast, generating genuine laughter and creating incredibly memorable moments for everyone. This choice truly was the perfect fit, ensuring an engaging and interactive experience that felt personal to our family’s love for games. Of course, in true Texas fashion, I couldn’t resist adding a touch of playful “Texas trashy” to the mix! I created a wedding ring toss game, a fun and spirited play off of beer pong, but adapted for the bridal shower setting. While it was incredibly fun and got everyone in good spirits, I decided to keep that particular game out of the official photos – some things are best enjoyed in the moment, purely for the joy and laughter they bring, rather than for public display, haha! This blend of refined elegance and lighthearted fun ensured that Caitlin’s bridal shower was not only beautiful but also truly reflective of her personality and the joyful spirit of the occasion.
